A normal coconut has three visible eyes. The one-eye coconut, traditionally known as Kala Ta Diao, is an unusual natural formation. Thai belief has long regarded it as an auspicious material.

Older Rahu traditions specifically used one-eye coconut shell as a traditional material for the wicca. So this is not simply a Phra Rahu amulet engraved onto some random shell. Phra Rahu In Front. Na Rahu Behind.

The front carries Phra Rahu. Turn it over, and the reverse carries Na Rahu, which Phu Lersi Pong engraved individually by hand. Na Rahu is not decoration. It is a traditional Rahu yantra and formula used within the Rahu wicca.

It connects with protection, stronger fortune, fewer obstacles and turning unfavourable situations around. Different masters can use different forms, so Na Rahu does not always look exactly the same from one school to another.

For this batch, Phu Lersi Pong engraved his own Na Rahu directly behind each piece. That means this piece does not stop at Rahu’s image on the front. The front carries Rahu. The back carries the traditional Na Rahu formula.

You can also see the handwork in the pieces themselves. The shell grain, colour, carving and old yants are not factory-perfect, while some engravings have faded more heavily than others with age. Note: As these are handmade pieces, slight differences in size, colour, carving and yants are normal.

Consecrated During An Actual Eclipse

Rahu and eclipses are tied together from the start. Traditional belief describes Rahu as the one who swallows the sun or moon, which is why older Rahu practice gives eclipse periods special importance.

Phu Lersi Pong consecrated this batch during an actual eclipse according to ancient texts. He performed the consecration during the eclipse itself, not simply afterwards. That timing matters because it forms part of the old consecration method.

You can make another Rahu tomorrow. You cannot decide tomorrow should be an eclipse.
