Nam Neung was never a nameless Prai. Her name, face, family and story are known — and the release of this Mother & Child Prai took five years of waiting before both she and her sister finally agreed. This Nam Neung Roop Tai keeps that identity at the center: her actual photograph, her own corpse cloth, her Prai wax, and Ajarn Tom’s hand-written yants.

She was already seven months pregnant when an accident took both her life and the life of her unborn child. After Ajarn Tom took her under his care, he spent years chanting for her, caring for her spirit and preparing her to eventually help others.

Like the original Mother & Child Mae Prai, Nam Neung remains an all-rounder Prai for wealth, sales, luck, saneh, relationships, wishes, spiritual ability and protection.

A Life That Ended Too Soon

Her name is Nam Neung (น้ำหนึ่ง). The name means excellent. Yet her life was far from excellent.

Nam Neung was already seven months pregnant when she became involved in a car accident. The crash alone might not have ended her life, but the impact pushed the car into the water. Trapped inside, she struggled for several painful minutes. Eventually, the darkness came.

The accident took both her life and the life of her unborn child. Unable to leave peacefully, and filled with sadness, grief and anger, Nam Neung began to roam the world.

Ajarn Tom Intervenes

Eventually, Ajarn Tom heard her story. He had known Nam Neung’s sister personally for many years. Because of this, he approached her and asked for permission to take Nam Neung under his care. Her sister agreed.

From there, Ajarn Tom began chanting for Nam Neung. He cared for her spirit and slowly appeased what she carried from her death. However, Ajarn Tom understood that she should not remain stagnant once her spirit became calmer.

Instead, he wanted Nam Neung to help others. By doing so, she could accumulate merit and one day move beyond this world. At the same time, those she helped could tamboon and dedicate merit back to both mother and child.

Nam Neung agreed. Her sister refused.

The Consent That Took Years

For this type of Mae Prai consecration, Ajarn Tom placed importance on permission from the spirit itself and the family when they were known. Although Nam Neung had already agreed, her sister continued to refuse. Therefore, Ajarn Tom did not simply proceed without her approval.

Years passed. Then in 2025, discussions began again. After further negotiation, her sister finally agreed.

Only then could Ajarn Tom proceed with pieces connected to Nam Neung. The entire journey took five years of waiting before her release finally became possible. This Nam Neung Roop Tai comes from the same BE 2569 release year.

Nam Neung Roop Tai — Her Actual Photograph

Roop Tai (รูปถ่าย) simply means photograph. Unlike a molded or carved image, the actual photograph remains the face of the piece. In Nam Neung’s case, the woman seen on the front is not a recreated image.

It is Nam Neung herself.

The connection continues on the back. Ajarn Tom placed a small piece of Nam Neung’s own corpse cloth together with her Prai wax onto every piece. He then personally hand-yanted each Roop Tai.

The construction consists of:

• Nam Neung’s actual photograph
• A piece of her own corpse cloth
• Nam Neung’s Prai wax
• Hand-written yants by Ajarn Tom

The corpse cloth belongs directly to Nam Neung, the same woman shown in the photograph on the front. Likewise, the Prai wax belongs directly to her.

Ajarn Tom then completed every piece individually by hand. Because of this, the yants naturally differ from one Roop Tai to another.

There is nothing indirect about the materials used here. Her photograph. Her corpse cloth. Her Prai wax. Ajarn Tom’s hand-yant.

Nam Neung Was Never Alone

Although Nam Neung is the woman shown in the photograph, her story has never involved her alone. She died together with her unborn child.

Therefore, the same Mother & Child Prai behind the original Nam Neung Mae Prai remains behind this Roop Tai. Only the physical form has changed.

Owners should remember that when receiving her, worshipping her and dedicating merit. Nam Neung may be the face on the front, but mother and child remain together behind the piece.
