If you are looking for a Ngan mainly for saneh and wealth, but don’t want to spend a bomb on something huge or overly fancy, this is actually quite a straightforward piece.

At first look, it is nothing much. Small, simple, quite unassuming. But Phu Lersi Pong hand-carved this Ngan from Khao Kwai Faa Pha — buffalo horn struck by lightning, then consecrated and anointed it with his own Nam Man Thong Kam, or Golden Oil.

The main focus is saneh and chok larp — charm, attraction, getting noticed, wealth, fortune and luck. It is still an all-rounder Ngan, covering protection, influence, authority and the usual broader Ngan effects, but these two are where this particular batch leans the hardest.

Khao Kwai Faa Pha — Lightning-Struck Buffalo Horn

The most interesting part of this Ngan is really the material. Phu Lersi Pong carved the body from buffalo horn which lightning had struck directly. In old traditional beliefs, people treat materials struck by lightning very differently from ordinary materials because they see lightning itself as a powerful celestial force.

Lightning hits hard enough to burn, split and destroy whatever it touches. So when a material survives that strike, people believe part of that force remains inside it.

Because of this, people have long sought after lightning-struck wood, horn and other natural materials for wicca involving protection, spiritual force, fortune and wealth. They are not exactly materials you can just walk into a shop and order whenever you want.

Phu Lersi Pong used this horn to hand-carve only 15 Ngan for the entire batch.

Nam Man Thong Kam — Golden Oil

After carving the Ngan, Phu Lersi Pong anointed it with his special Nam Man Thong Kam, or Golden Oil.

This oil is a blend which includes Lukkok oil from different Lukkok, Nam Man Chang Baa, Wan Dok Thong, Wan Rak, Wan Kao Long and various other rare wan materials. The oil focuses heavily on saneh, attraction, wealth and fortune.

So both the material and the oil are pushing towards the same direction. The lightning-struck horn forms the base, while the Golden Oil pushes the saneh and chok larp side further.

Phra Ngan

The history of Phra Ngan is honestly one big mess. Some say Ngan is connected to mountain spirits. Some describe it as a guardian. Some say demon king. Some say something much darker.

Even until today, you can ask ten different people and probably get ten different answers. What is much less confusing is why people keep Ngan.

For generations, people have kept Ngan heavily for saneh, wealth, fortune, influence, authority and protection. This is also why Ngan remains so popular with people who want one piece that can cover quite a few areas instead of wearing five or six different amulets at once.

For this particular one, the main focus is still saneh and chok larp.

Personal Experience With It

I actually wore one of these out drinking with a few friends and clients.

I had been to the same place before, so it wasn’t somewhere new. That night, I was wearing my usual Phra amulets together with this Ngan. No other saneh pieces and no prai.

Not long after we arrived, one of the hostesses came over to take our orders and chit chat. I noticed she seemed to be giving me a little more attention than usual, but I didn’t think too much about it. Could just be coincidence.

About an hour later, another lady came to work. Slim, tall, tight bodycon dress. My cup of tea. 🤭

I had met her before too, and previously nothing much happened between us. But that night, after sitting together for a while, she suddenly became much more touchy and started giving pretty obvious hints. The difference compared to the previous times I met her was quite obvious.

Things progressed rather quickly after that, and you guys can use your imagination for the rest. 🤭

The Part That Made It Interesting

The part which made the whole thing more interesting was that she apparently wasn’t even supposed to be working that day.

So afterwards, I did wonder whether the Ngan had anything to do with her suddenly coming in that night in the first place. Could be coincidence. Could be the Ngan. I cannot prove either way.

But when you have met the same person before and nothing much happened, then suddenly the first time you wear a new Ngan the entire interaction changes, of course it is something you are going to remember.

Full disclaimer though, this is my own experience and nothing more. I would never say an amulet works 100% exactly the same way for everyone. Many other factors come into play, including your own fate, the other person’s fate, how you present yourself, what you ask for, the situation you are in, and even what the other person may be wearing or keeping themselves.

Sometimes the effect comes fast. Sometimes it takes time. Sometimes nothing happens at all. That is just the reality of amulets.
