You can have an altar full of strong pieces and still feel like everything is doing its own thing. One may be for wealth, another for saneh, another for protection, business, luck or control. Each has its own purpose, but sometimes what is missing is not another amulet with another effect.

Sometimes what makes more sense is something that can sit at the centre, carry many effects of its own, and add another layer to everything already there. That is where the Ajarn Tom Hakom Infused Roop Tai comes in.

In Thai amulet culture, people often keep Roop Tai of respected monks and Ajarns as ภาพแทนกาย — an image representing the master himself. Instead of simply adding another amulet, the image of the person behind the wicca takes its place on the altar.

With Ajarn Tom, that point matters even more. Across more than 10 years of releases, only 3 releases ever carried his actual photographic image. This is one of them, and it is also the only Roop Tai he ever made, with only 17 pieces in existence.

More Than Just His Photograph

Anyone can print Ajarn Tom’s photo. Ajarn Tom himself told people to do exactly that when they repeatedly asked him to make something like this. The difference was that he would not yant or bless an ordinary printed photograph.

These 17 are different. Ajarn Tom infused many different wicca into the Roop Tai, covering wealth, business, saneh, Metta Maha Niyom, protection, control, wishes, benefactors, legal matters, personal aura and more. Even on its own, this is far more than a photograph placed on the altar.

For those already keeping Ajarn Tom’s amulets or bucha, there is another layer. He is the person behind those pieces and the prai connected to them, so placing his Roop Tai among them puts the image of the master back at the centre.

This can also extend towards relevant pieces and prai from his lineage, especially where control and keeping things in check are involved. It does not replace what is already there. It adds another layer.

Why Hakom Matters Here

Among all the wicca infused into this Roop Tai, Hakom is one of the heaviest parts of it. Hakom is not normal prai.

Traditionally, Hakom is described as something closer to a ghoul — a being between life and death. Accounts connect it to someone who already possessed strong wicca while alive, usually an Ajarn, Lersi or someone deeply involved with spirits.

The darker accounts say that the spirits and forces being controlled eventually overwhelmed that person. What remained was no longer treated like an ordinary ghost.

Traditional teachings go as far as describing Hakom as a being 1,000 times stronger than normal prai. This is not meant as a literal measurement. The point is how differently Hakom is regarded — something far heavier than ordinary prai and dangerous by nature.

Its darker side goes into possession, attack, retaliation, destruction and control. This was never soft prai wicca, and never something every Ajarn would touch. Ajarn Tom received his Hakom wicca through Phu Lersi Pong.

What Hakom Is Consecrated For

But Hakom is not kept only because of how dark it is. It can also be consecrated for wealth attraction, business, gambling and windfall luck, saneh, wish fulfilment, negotiation, debt recovery, protection and control.

When someone keeps delaying, money refuses to return, negotiations drag on or another party simply refuses to cooperate, Hakom brings in the harder side. Instead of simply waiting for things to happen, it adds pressure when something stands in the way.

And in this Roop Tai, Ajarn Tom did not infuse Hakom in as a afterthought. This was the key wicca used. 

The other wicca inside cover wealth, saneh, metta, benefactors, wishes and protection. Hakom brings in the harder side — control, pressure, negotiation and debt recovery. That is where Hakom gives this Roop Tai its teeth.

Wai Kru Ceremony With His Teachers

These 17 Roop Tai went through major ceremonies involving Ajarn Tom together with his teachers — Kruba Thep, Phu Lersi Pong and Ajarn Daeng.

The Roop Tai first went through 3 major ceremonies, with Ajarn Tom joining his teachers for 2 of them, including the Wai Kru ceremony. The final major ceremony took place during the Hakom Candle Lighting Event.

After that, Ajarn Tom blessed them again together with our orders. He then kept them for approximately another 2 months, continuing to bless them before finally sending them over.

All in all: 4 ceremonies, followed by approximately 2 more months of blessing.

The Release That Almost Never Happened

For years, people had asked Ajarn Tom to make something using his own photograph, but his answer remained no. Ajarn Tom had made a pact years earlier, and one of its conditions meant he could not consecrate any newly created item carrying his image.

He later even released another self-image piece with a Lersi Krop Sian deliberately covering his face, making his position very clear.

Then during Ajarn Tom’s birthday event, while I was at his samnak, he unexpectedly brought out a reproduction of an original photograph from his monkhood days. That old photograph became the exception because the image had already existed long before the pact.

Part of this release also helped with his medical expenses at the time. Initially, I thought he had prepared only a few copies, perhaps for people closer to him, so I did not even ask.

Only towards the end did Ajarn Tom reveal that he had actually prepared and consecrated these for ShogunX Amulets, after we had spent years asking him to make something like this.

Ajarn Tom made only 17 pieces. This also became only the third release in more than 10 years to carry his actual photographic image. The other two were his earlier self-image lockets, and among all three, this remains the only Roop Tai.

Because of the pact Ajarn Tom made, this is final. No more Ajarn Tom Roop Tai will ever be made.
