This is the final piece available, serial no. 2, from the first and only memorial batch made for Ajarn Rut. The batch was consecrated shortly after he passed away in early April BE 2564 at 79 years old.

Most of the pieces had already found owners even before the official release.

Ajarn Rut was one of Ajarn Nut’s masters. Although he kept a very low profile, people who knew his background understood the strength of his wicca.

A Simple Memorial Made in Ajarn Rut’s Style

Ajarn Nut kept the back of the Roop Tai very simple, almost as a tribute to his late master.

Ajarn Rut was a traditional master. He did his work by hand and kept everything simple. In the same spirit, Ajarn Nut fully hand-yanted the back of the photograph.

I genuinely love this style of work. Simple, traditional and beautiful, with nothing unnecessary to distract from the wicca.

Ajarn Rut’s Gradook, Hair and Sacred Materials

At the heart of this memorial piece are a fragment of Ajarn Rut’s own gradook and some of his hair.

The piece contains:

• A fragment of Ajarn Rut’s gradook
• Some of Ajarn Rut’s hair
• Phan Paeng, a blend of 1,000 powders (พันแป้ง)

The Phan Paeng blend includes herbs, murn sarn and Yaa Faed. It also contains a mixture of materials that Ajarn Rut and Ajarn Nut had collected or made over the years.

In addition, the piece carries three takruts in the traditional Samkasat colours: copper, silver and gold. Together, they cover many different areas.

In practical terms, the effects cover:

• Wealth and money

• Watching over and controlling prai
• Strengthening prai amulets
• Metta, charm and attraction
• Kongkrapan

Basically, Ajarn Rut acts almost like a Lersi for the owner’s prai. He helps to look after them, keep them under control and may even strengthen their power.

Ajarn Rut was also a master of Metta and Kongkrapan wicca. For this reason, owners also keep the piece for support in these two areas.

A Short Biography of Ajarn Rut

Some details below come from old accounts and translations. Many of these masters never sought publicity. Therefore, certain names or spellings may not be fully accurate.

Old photographs are also very hard to find. At that time, most ordinary people in those areas could not easily afford photography. As a result, very few photographs seem to have survived.

Ajarn Rut came from Ban Phai Subdistrict in Lamphun Province. Old records connect him to a place written roughly as “Ba Yin Pagoda, Huai Sai Temple.” He also lived as a monk at one of the local temples.

When Ajarn Rut entered monkhood, Kruba Kasi became his master. Later, he learned from several other respected masters. They included a famous master from Chiang Rai who taught him Kongkrapan wicca.

A longer list of lineage names also exists. However, the spellings remain too uncertain to publish accurately today. Besides these masters, Ajarn Rut studied the wicca of the Myanmar and Shan people (掸族).

He was also a close friend of a famous Chiang Mai master known for Metta wicca. That master passed away many years ago. According to the old account, he passed this wicca only to Ajarn Rut at that point in time.

From the Forest Back to Lamphun

Ajarn Rut spent many years living in the forest. However, devotees who heard about him travelled great distances to seek his advice. Some came from other cities and provinces.

Later in life, he moved back into his old house in Lamphun. This allowed him to help people more directly. In particular, he helped those dealing with possession, spiritual disturbances and black magic.

He also performed rituals for devotees, did sak yant and made amulets.

By the time Ajarn Rut passed away, he had spent almost 60 years as an Ajarn.

A Low-Profile Master Known Across the North

Although Ajarn Rut stayed low profile to the wider public, northern devotees knew his name. So did the people who had personally sought his help.

He became especially respected for:

• Metta
• Charisma, charm and attraction
• Kongkrapan
• Possession and spiritual disturbance cases
• Lanna wicca
• Shan wicca

He was best known for Metta and Kongkrapan. At the same time, he handled hard spiritual cases involving possession, disturbances and black magic.

This final Ajarn Rut Memorial Roop Tai, serial no. 2, contains Ajarn Rut’s own gradook and hair, together with Ajarn Nut’s full hand-yanting and the direct master-disciple connection between them.
