It might not be what you think it is… A problem which has been common once, this issue seems to be popping up again, with many sellers and even Ajarns, selling very cheap and affordable “panneng”. Usually, when we hear the word panneng, we’ll usually assume that it’s from a human prai, but due to growing cost and price of these, some Ajarns and sellers are knowingly, or unknowingly, selling elephant or cow/ox bone as such. In some rare cases, it could have even be made with plaster of Paris instead. Based on experience, the thai sellers will mostly say that it’s made using elephant bones or some other animal bones, but of course some may try and convince you it’s actually prai.
