Description
Ajarn Nut | BE 2566 | Only 15 Pieces Made | Size: #1 & #2 – 6.3 × 5 cm; #3 – 7 × 5.5 cm; #4 – 7.5 × 6 cm
There are plenty of Ghost Butterfly amulets around nowadays. Different makers, different materials, different prices. Some are genuine creations, while others are outright copies trying to ride on the reputation of the older batches.
When it comes to Prai Piser, or Ghost Butterfly, Ajarn Meng and Ajarn Nut are two names that shouldn’t be left out. Ajarn Meng was one of the masters who made Prai Piser famous among collectors. Ajarn Nut, being his student, continued making his own versions over the years. Whenever someone asks us which amulet from Ajarn Nut we recommend, Prai Piser is usually the first one.
This particular Nur Khaokwang Prai Piser from BE 2566 is different from his usual releases. It features hand-carved Nur Khaokwang, Panneng butterfly wings and Yoni, with only 15 pieces made.
Why We Keep Recommending Prai Piser
When we first started dealing with Ajarn Nut, he personally gave me one of his earlier Ghost Butterfly amulets. Nothing fancy. In fact, it looked rather ordinary compared to many of the amulets available nowadays. However, after wearing it for some time, I began noticing certain changes.
Business became smoother, and closing deals seemed easier. People were generally more approachable. Even women who normally wouldn’t pay much attention would sometimes approach me or start conversations on their own.
Because of that experience, we started bringing in more Prai Piser. Whenever possible, we also tried to obtain older batches from Ajarn Nut’s personal collection. Over the years, friends and customers have also shared their own experiences with us.
A Different Kind Of Prai Piser
Although Ajarn Nut released his first Roop Lor in BE 2564, this BE 2566 batch was his first hand-carved version.
The body of this Prai Piser is hand-carved Nur Khaokwang in the form of Mae Per, while Panneng forms the butterfly wings, with a small piece of Yoni underneath. Rather than simply mixing these materials together, Ajarn Nut’s design brings them together to form the complete Ghost Butterfly.
The choice of Mae Per is also rather fitting. In traditional Thai occult beliefs, Mae Per is associated with charm, attraction, popularity and good fortune. These properties are particularly sought after by people who rely on customers, personal connections and business relationships.
Nur Khaokwang – More Than Just Popularity And Wealth
Nur Khaokwang is one of those traditional materials believed to possess its own natural magical properties, even without blessings from practitioners. Most collectors would associate it with popularity, wealth and gaining favour from others. This includes gaining support from superiors, receiving favourable treatment from customers and attracting better financial opportunities.
However, Nur Khaokwang isn’t only about charm and wealth. It also has a traditional reputation for resistance against physical harm, including injuries caused by weapons. Some beliefs even describe a more complete form of protection, where the wearer may escape physical harm altogether.
Another important property is danger avoidance. Apart from accidents and unwanted situations, this also includes protection against troublesome people, especially those who secretly create problems, sabotage opportunities or attempt to bring you down.
These are traditional beliefs surrounding Nur Khaokwang, rather than guarantees of physical safety.
Panneng & Yoni – Where The Prai Comes In
For collectors familiar with darker Thai amulets, Panneng should need little introduction. It is one of the more sought-after Prai materials, especially for wish granting, charm, attraction, wealth, windfall luck and spirit assistance.
According to traditional beliefs, the Prai associated with Panneng may assist the owner in fulfilling personal wishes. This includes gaining favour from others, improving relationships, attracting opportunities and seeking financial luck.
Then comes the Yoni. While Panneng already carries strong charm and attraction properties, Yoni is particularly sought after for sexual attraction, desire, love and intimacy. There is a difference between someone simply liking you and someone actually desiring you. And that is where the Yoni is believed to come in.
With Nur Khaokwang covering popularity, wealth and protection, Panneng brings in the Prai aspect. Meanwhile, Yoni adds a stronger emphasis on sexual attraction and desire. So although this Prai Piser has strong Saneh properties, it isn’t limited to relationships alone. Wealth, business, popularity, wish granting and protection are also part of its traditional purposes.
Extended Consecration By Ajarn Nut
Of course, having good materials is one thing. How the maker prepares and consecrates them is another.
For this batch, Ajarn Nut spent a prolonged period consecrating the pieces through Jhana, a state of deep mental concentration. During the consecration, he also incorporated the four fundamental elements of Earth, Air, Water and Fire. Only after completing the extended consecration did Ajarn Nut release this batch in BE 2566.
