Description
Ajarn Nut | BE 2569 | Size: 7.7 × 4.5 cm
Ajarn Nut melted down lead from old cremation urns that once held human remains and cast it into a solid metal Prai Thong. Not exactly the kind of material you’ll find in an ordinary amulet.
Known as Takua Kot, this lead has a rather interesting reputation in Thai occult traditions. Practitioners believe it can absorb and retain occult energy, suppress harmful spirits, provide protection, and attract wealth and prosperity.
Ajarn Nut used the melted urn lead to cast the Prai Thong. He then filled the back with Murn Sarn and a Panneng chunk, together with a bottle of Nam Man Prai and three Takruts.
Takua Kot – Lead From The Urns Of The Dead
Takua Kot refers to lead from old funerary urns that once held the cremated remains of the deceased. Thai occult traditions regard this as an Athan material because of its connection to death and the spirit world.
According to traditional beliefs, lead from these urns can absorb, accumulate and retain occult energy, including energy associated with the deceased. Practitioners value it for spirit-related amulets and rituals, particularly those involving the storage and retention of spiritual energy.
Despite its association with the dead, Takua Kot also has other traditional purposes. Practitioners believe it can suppress harmful spirits, ward off negative influences, strengthen protection, and attract wealth, luck and prosperity.
The use of such lead isn’t something new either. Old Thai occult formulas for Kuman Thong and other spirit-related amulets also describe using lead from funerary urns. Some formulas even call for lead from nine different urns. Practitioners then add sacred inscriptions before melting and casting the metal.
The Back – Traditional Prai Materials
The back contains Murn Sarn and a Panneng chunk. Thai occult practitioners particularly value Panneng for its association with spirits, attraction, influence and spiritual assistance.
Ajarn Nut also added a bottle of Nam Man Prai, traditionally associated with charm, attraction, influence and spiritual assistance. Alongside it are three Takruts meant to enhance and support the amulet’s traditional functions.
Prai Thong – Wealth, Wish Granting & Retaliation
Prai Thong is traditionally sought for much more than attracting money. Devotees regard it as a spiritual assistant for wealth, opportunities, personal requests, attraction, influence and dealing with troublesome people.
For business and financial matters, Prai Thong is associated with attracting customers, improving sales, increasing wealth, opening opportunities and bringing windfall luck.
Wish granting is another major aspect of Prai Thong. Devotees seek its assistance with personal requests, relationships, business matters and difficult situations. This is particularly so when they need help getting things to move in their favour.
Attraction and influence are equally important. This includes charm, romantic attraction, gaining favour, persuasion and getting people to cooperate.
However, Prai Thong isn’t limited to wealth and attraction.
It also has a darker reputation for enemy suppression and retaliation. According to traditional beliefs, Prai Thong can help counter malicious intentions, suppress troublesome enemies and turn an unfavourable situation around.
Some traditions go even further. They associate Prai Thong with taking an enemy’s fortune, luck or advantages and redirecting them towards the owner. Instead of simply keeping enemies away, the intention is to turn the tables and benefit from the situation.
Protection against harmful spirits, negative influences and occult attacks is also among its traditional purposes.
