You can put in the effort, have something worth offering and still watch somebody else get remembered, somebody else get the customer, somebody else get the opportunity. Somebody else gets chosen.

Traditionally, people keep Phaya Khao Kam for exactly this kind of problem. To understand why, you first need to know who Phaya Khao Kam actually is.

Who Phaya Khao Kam Is

One of the most commonly repeated Lanna legends tells of a ruler who had no heir. After asking the heavens for a son, a heavenly being came down and entered the world as an exceptionally handsome prince with something unusual on his head — a small golden horn.

As the prince grew, so did the horn. At the same time, his attraction towards women became legendary. This is where the name Phaya Khao Kam — the Lord of the Golden Horn — comes from.

According to the old story, not just anyone could remove his golden horn. Only women destined to become his partners could do it. Eventually, he met women who could remove it, and that story became closely tied to his reputation for extraordinary attraction.

Because of this, old Lanna masters used the image of Phaya Khao Kam in sacred objects connected strongly with maha saneh, metta, attraction and popularity. Traditional images often show him together with women, sometimes embracing them or surrounded by them. When the details come through clearly, someone familiar with this type of amulet can usually tell very quickly what kind of wicca the piece represents.

This particular Phaya Khao Kam looks very different. The casting came out extremely soft and understated. As a result, most of those obvious details almost disappear into the lead.

For someone buying purely for looks, that may not be ideal. However, for someone who wants to keep or wear Phaya Khao Kam without everybody around them knowing exactly what they are carrying, this becomes useful.

Most people would probably see nothing more than an old piece of sacred lead. They would not immediately recognise the women or understand the traditional imagery. Unless someone already knows exactly what they are looking at, they probably would not know it is Phaya Khao Kam at all.

So you can keep Phaya Khao Kam for its traditional saneh, metta, attraction, favour and people-luck purposes without openly showing everyone what kind of wicca you are carrying. You know what it is. They do not need to.

Only A Few Were Made

Phra Ajarn Dtutop made only a few Phaya Khao Kam from this particular mould.

This example came out especially rough, with very little fine detail showing on the front. The mould produced a much softer image than the other sacred forms, and Phra Ajarn Dtutop did not continue making more Phaya Khao Kam after this short run. No larger production followed.

As a result, Phaya Khao Kam became one of the least-made forms from the entire batch of only 70 pieces across five sacred forms: Wua Tanu, Khun Paen, Phaya Khao Kam, Phra Ngan and Taowesuwan.

So there is no need to pretend this is a beautiful casting. That was never its strength. Instead, the way it came out created two things that are much harder to reproduce: very few exist, and the finished piece is unusually discreet.

Why Phaya Khao Kam Is More Than Attraction

The women surrounding Phaya Khao Kam make the saneh side obvious. However, reducing him to a love amulet misses a large part of the old belief.

Saneh refers to attraction and personal magnetism. Metta refers to favour and goodwill — the kind that can make people more comfortable with you, more receptive towards you and more willing to deal with you.

For someone in business, this can mean customers becoming easier to approach and deal with. For someone in sales, it can mean people actually listening instead of immediately shutting the conversation down.

At work, it can mean smoother dealings with colleagues, superiors or people who control an opportunity. In relationships, it can mean stronger attraction, attention and people becoming more willing to approach you.

Phaya Khao Kam also carries older associations with wealth, trade, fortune, status and advancement. Therefore, the purpose can go far beyond romance.

A lot of it comes back to one basic advantage: How other people respond to you.

You do not always need another person to love you. Sometimes you simply need them to notice you, remember you and choose you instead of somebody else.

Nur Tagua Saksit — Sacred Lead With History

Underneath that quiet appearance is where this batch becomes much heavier.

Phra Ajarn Dtutop cast this Phaya Khao Kam from Nur Tagua Saksit, sacred lead created from old consecrated lead objects that he gathered over a long period.

Among the main materials were old lead amulets from different places, with some estimated to be more than 100 years old.

These were not random scraps melted down simply to provide metal. They had already existed as sacred objects for decades. Some carried old yants, while others carried different wicca. They had also spent years around temples, monks, chanting and blessing before Phra Ajarn Dtutop added them to this batch.

In addition, Phra Ajarn Dtutop added old lead takruts connected to himself and his master, Kruba Innsom. These had already served as sacred objects long before they entered the casting.

So the material did not start from nothing. It already had years of history behind it.

Another unusual ingredient came from used or deactivated grenade components. Phra Ajarn Dtutop added this specifically for Klaew Klad and krongkrapan.

Klaew Klad refers to avoiding danger, accidents and harmful situations, while krongkrapan refers to protection against physical harm.

Therefore, while the Phaya Khao Kam form focuses strongly on saneh, metta, attraction, people luck, fortune and wealth, the sacred lead underneath also carries a deliberate protective side.

More importantly, much of the material already existed as consecrated sacred objects before Phra Ajarn Dtutop melted everything together. The material itself was already part of the wicca before it became Phaya Khao Kam.

Blessed Daily For Two Years

Once Phra Ajarn Dtutop had gathered enough sacred material, he joined other monks for an elaborate blessing ceremony. After that, they melted the Nur Tagua Saksit and traditionally cast the five different sacred forms.

However, Phra Ajarn Dtutop did not release the finished pieces immediately. Instead, he kept the amulets inside the temple and blessed them daily for another two full years.

So this piece carries both sides of the process. The material already had its own sacred history before casting. Then, after it took the form of Phaya Khao Kam, Phra Ajarn Dtutop continued blessing the completed amulet for another two years.

Who This Is For

Phaya Khao Kam makes the most sense for people whose results depend heavily on other people.

That includes business owners, salespeople, people dealing with customers, people negotiating, and anyone whose work depends heavily on networking, communication or personal relationships.

You can be good at what you do and still be overlooked. You want the person in front of you to listen, remember you, feel comfortable dealing with you and favour you when there is a choice to be made.

At the same time, those looking towards saneh and attraction still have the traditional side of Phaya Khao Kam that made the figure famous in the first place.

Different situations, but the same core purpose: getting a better response from the people in front of you.

However, if you want the traditional purpose of Phaya Khao Kam without openly advertising what you are carrying, the softer casting becomes part of the appeal.

Phra Ajarn Dtutop made only a few from this mould and never continued into a larger production. As a result, Phaya Khao Kam remained one of the least-made forms from the entire Nur Tagua Saksit batch.

At the same time, most people looking at this particular piece would probably never know what it is. Underneath that discreet appearance sits Nur Tagua Saksit made from old sacred amulets, old takruts connected to Phra Ajarn Dtutop and Kruba Innsom, protective metal, and another two full years of daily blessing after casting.

For someone who wants a pretty display piece, look elsewhere. But for someone who wants Phaya Khao Kam for attraction, favour, people luck and opportunities, while keeping what they carry private, this piece makes much more sense.

Only a few were made. No larger production ever followed.
