The Casanova Ngan is a version very similar to Ajarn Put’s famous Thousand Wife Ngan. It was favoured by those in the know for its strong saneh ability, without the crazy price of the Thousand Wife. I remember owning one years back when these were first released, and boy… it was an exciting time.

Normally, there are two versions. The normal version has only a takrut at the bottom. The special version has the bottom packed with murn sarn aatharon saneh Chan Kroo, together with the takrut.

But this particular piece is different. Instead of the normal saneh murn sarn found in the special version, the bottom of this piece is packed with Santika Disco murn sarn. For anyone who collected Ajarn Put pieces back in the day, Santika Disco needs very little introduction.

The Santika Disco Murn Sarn

On 1 January 2009, the Santika nightclub fire became one of Bangkok’s most infamous nightlife disasters. After the incident, Ajarn Put became known among old collectors for a number of Santika Disco-related occult pieces. These were said to use prai materials connected with victims of the disaster.

Different Santika Disco pieces and batches appeared during that period. Unfortunately, much of the original photographs, records and details have since been lost. For people who collected Ajarn Put pieces back then, Santika Disco was never just another name.

It referred to one very specific tragedy and source of materials. The old prai pieces connected with Santika Disco are also rarely seen today. That Santika Disco murn sarn is what makes this Casanova Ngan different.

Normally, the normal Casanova Ngan has only the takrut at the bottom, while the special version has saneh murn sarn together with the takrut. This particular piece has Santika Disco murn sarn + takrut, so this is not just the usual special version.

Important Note

This is a non-standard Ajarn Put release. Like many masters, Ajarn Put was known to make one-off pieces and special variations. He also reused the same mould while changing the powders, fillings and materials inside. Because of this, some old non-standard pieces can be difficult to identify from appearance alone.

We are listing this as a non-standard variation based on its source and the Santika Disco murn sarn at the base, rather than as part of the regular Casanova batch.

The Casanova Ngan

The body itself is said to be made using a resin-like material blended with prai materials and herbs. Even the usual special version already contained murn sarn aatharon saneh Chan Kroo, or saneh materials of the highest class.

The piece also carries a single takrut with the yants of Maha Laluuay, Maha Saneh & Maha Jangang. These yants are traditionally connected with inspiring love, great charm, attraction and making another person become fascinated or dazed towards the owner. This is what made the Casanova Ngan so heavily focused on saneh in the first place.

Ajarn Put was also said to have blessed these using nine women from nine different backgrounds. This was an old blessing method he used for some of his stronger saneh pieces. Unfortunately, like many of Ajarn Put’s older releases, most photographs and records from those days are already gone.

The Reputation Back Then

Back in the day, some Thai dealers were even selling these with a warning not to use them too much unless the owner was in a related line of work. They claimed the overwhelmingly strong saneh could eventually cause a decrease in wealth if overused.

How true that old warning is, I can’t say. But it tells you the kind of reputation the Casanova Ngan had when it was first released.

And this particular piece is not just the usual special version. It is an old

Casanova Ngan with Santika Disco murn sarn packed into the bottom. For people who know Ajarn Put’s older pieces, that is what really makes this one interesting.
