What Nur Mekaphat Alloy Is
Nur Mekaphat is not just any metal.
Instead, it stands as an alchemical alloy rooted in ancient Thai wicca — long associated with fortune, status, and elevated standing, while offering protection from harm.
Throughout history, Nur Mekaphat has remained highly revered in Thailand.
As a result, collectors and practitioners continue to seek it out. Even today, well-known pieces can command tens of thousands of USD among serious collectors.
However, Nur Mekaphat does not come from simply melting metals together.
Rather, masters form it through an intricate and demanding process, one that tests skill, control, and knowledge at every stage.
Because of this, most attempts fail.
As a result, true Nur Mekaphat has remained rarely seen, tightly held, and highly sought after throughout history.
Spiritual Nature of Nur Mekaphat
Even as a raw alloy, Nur Mekaphat carries strong spiritual significance.
Once formed into an amulet, its properties fully come into play.
In this form, this Nur Mekaphat Pidta expresses three core effects:
Chok Lap / Noon Duang (โชคลาภ / หนุนดวง)
More than just luck, this reflects alignment — where timing, opportunity, and circumstances begin to work in your favour.
- Being at the right place, at the right time
- Opportunities opening when they should
- Situations naturally leaning toward your benefit
As a result, things fall into place — without force.
Klaew Klad (แคล้วคลาด)
While often described as avoidance, this actually reflects not entering situations at all.
- Missing problems before they happen
- Staying out of conflict and unnecessary trouble
- Reducing exposure to risk, danger, and misfortune
Because of this, what could have happened… simply doesn’t.
Kongkrapan Chatree (คงกระพันชาตรี)
This represents a deeper level of protection — not just reducing harm, but stopping it from fully taking effect.
- Resisting physical and situational harm
- Creating a defensive barrier against direct and indirect threats
- Reducing or neutralising impact before it manifests
In practice, protection works at the source, not after.
Overall Nature
Rather than spreading across many scattered effects, Nur Mekaphat focuses on a few strong fundamentals.
As a whole, it centres on alignment, avoidance, and protection — working together as one.
The Form — Pidta
Pidta (ปิดตา) literally means “closed eyes.”
It depicts a figure covering the face, symbolising the act of shutting off external distractions and withdrawing inward.
Traditionally, this links closely to meditation. As such, it represents closing all sensory inputs — preventing outside influence while maintaining full internal control.
In this form, this Nur Mekaphat Pidta represents a combination of material strength and functional direction. Here, the properties of Nur Mekaphat move through the Pidta form to emphasise avoidance, protection, and the steady flow of favourable conditions.
At the same time, Pidta has long connected with protection, avoidance, wealth, and good fortune. Therefore, it stands as a powerful symbol of remaining untouched by harm, while allowing favourable conditions to move toward the holder, making it one of the most respected and widely sought-after amulets in Thai tradition.
Materials & Formula of Nur Mekaphat
The base materials of Nur Mekaphat typically include:
- Copper
- Lead
In addition, masters introduce other metals depending on lineage. Common ones include:
- Manganese
- Antimony
- Gold
- Silver
- Nickel
- Selenium
- Zinc
At the same time, almost all Nur Mekaphat formulations include a blend of wan (sacred herbs), with common ones including:
- Wan Zingiber
- Wan Krachai Dam
- Wan Mok
- Wan Sano
And in most cases, more are added depending on lineage teachings.
No Fixed Recipe
There is no single formula for Nur Mekaphat.
Instead:
- Each lineage holds its own method
- Each master adjusts materials, sequence, and ritual
- The full process remains closely held
Even when materials are known:
Ultimately, the outcome depends entirely on execution.
The Process
This is where most people get it wrong.
Nur Mekaphat does not simply melt into form.
Instead, the material moves through:
- Strict sequencing of melting and combination
- Sulfur-based treatment at the final stage
- Continuous, uninterrupted chanting throughout the process
Because of this, every step matters.
The Difficulty (And Why It Is Rare)
This is where most attempts fail.
- The metals must combine correctly
- The sequence must remain exact
- The sulfur treatment must occur at the right point
- The ritual must continue without interruption
If anything shifts out of place:
The process fails — and the result remains ordinary metal.
Because of this:
- Very few practitioners complete the process
- Even fewer do so consistently
As a result, in recent years:
New Nur Mekaphat releases are almost non-existent.
Origin & Batch
This piece was uncovered during our visit to Phu Lersi Pong’s samnak.
This older batch of Nur Mekaphat Pidta comes from his earlier years, around 10 years ago. At that time, his work followed a more hands-on and closely held approach.
Because of this, pieces from this period are rarely seen again.
