Hakom, a ghoul said to be a thousand times stronger than the average spirit, is a force of nature—calm yet deadly, protective yet lethal when commanded. Few dare to harness its full power, for in the wrong hands it becomes a weapon of chaos; in the right hands, an unrivaled ally. Equally rare is the ancient wicca of Ma kin Kwaam Kít, or the “thought-eating dog”—a near-extinct art known for its ability to charm, control, and captivate. Said to brainwash with eerie precision, it bends will, sparks love, and even sways the outcome of trials, making those under its influence obey as loyally as a dog to its master.

Starting off with a piece of horn from a buffalo 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠; 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, turning it into a potent material for many purposes.

Because it has been directly touched by a force of nature (lightning, which is seen as a divine or celestial element). They are believe to naturally hold various effects, like:

𝙆𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜 (ครั่ง) , 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐩, 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐡𝐢 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝟓𝟎 – 𝟔𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝. While this material by itself is relatively inexpensive and easy to get, the ones used by Lersi is said to be from naturally grown, wild trees found in nature, not those raised by humans, which is said to be 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐛𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧.

It is said to possess the 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 & 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀.

This material however, is rarely used anymore, due to the difficulty, and also cost of obtaining the correct type; natural, from a old tree.

Precious metal like gold & silver are often seen as the best materials in amulet making, and it is not because of its beauty, or value. It is mainly due to the believe that they hold strong “Palang”; power, and also what they represents.

Silver, is linked to the moon, wisdom, intuition, and protection from evil forces. It is often seen as a purifier against negative energy. The name of it in Thai, “Ngern”, is exactly the same as the term for “money” making it a auspicious material as well.

This is also why, materials like silver and gold would sometimes be combined with other metals for amulet making, and also why it may sometimes be use for making takruts, to be stuffed into amulets and statue.

While insignificant in looks, material like these, when added, help to enhance the power and effect greatly.
