Rain Tree and Jujube hosts tend to give deeper red tones, while Longan and Lychee produce lighter amber shades. Some krang even comes from the 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐡𝐢 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 (ต้นโพธิ์), linking it directly to the symbolism of the Buddha’s enlightenment.

It might not be what you think it is… A problem which has been common once, this issue seems to be popping up again, with many sellers and even Ajarns, selling very cheap and affordable “panneng”. Usually, when we hear the word panneng, we’ll usually assume that it’s from a human prai, but due to growing cost and price of these, some Ajarns and sellers are knowingly, or unknowingly, selling elephant or cow/ox bone as such. In some rare cases, it could have even be made with plaster of Paris instead.
