Casted from Nur Samrit, the word samrit, is a Khmer word that is used in Thailand and Cambodia to describe a peculiar copper alloy that does not tarnish and is believed to bring good luck.It literally means “to filter, to strain” “refined” or “purified”.
Based on our understanding of this material, there is no fix list or percentage of ingredients, and can consist of either new, or antique metals, or in some cases, old amulets, takruts, statues etc.
Some may also include the use of gold and silver, and is considered to be a highly prized item, for it’s collectability, and the belief of the magicial power it contains. Old Samrit items, especially with those in good condition, like a whole intact bowl, urn, bracelets, reaching 7000 to 8000 baht per kg or more, and vary depending on the actual condition and what item it is.
In this case, the samrit used are new ones, which aren’t as ideal as the actual old Samrit, but helps to bring down the price significantly, as a real antique piece, or one made from old Samrit, will easily double or triple the price, if not more.
It is also lightly engraved by Aj Wanchai, and blessed again before releasing to us, making these, even more unique.
The bottom, is also, stuffed with a mixture of materials, starting off with a murn sarn, made using a wide variety of herbs, wood, and holy powders, along with Pong prai, NMP, and see pheung maha saneh. On the top of it, it is stuffed with old amulet made by Ajarn prior, like the Khun Paen & two takruts, along with coffin nail, raw gemstones, magicial metal ores.
Lastly, a lump of murn sarn, was placed on the hands of the Ngan, which we were told is a special blend, specially made for this batch..
The overall look seem a little modern and commercial, but is in fact, build, and made according to the ancient wicca.
Think of it as a traditional, ancient Ngan, redesign, in a modern way, to appeal to the modern generation.
